Exbury Gardens are situated on the south coast of England and are one of the largest and most colourful gardens in the country. Created by city banker Lionel de Rothschild between the two World Wars they are home to the many varieties of rhododendron and azaleas that are now famous throughout the world.
"Heaven With the Gates Open" is a 45-minute film made by his grandson, filmmaker, Nicholas de Rothschild, and tells the story of the creation of one of the horticultural wonders of the World, and it's progress through the 20th Century.
