With a brand new website and fresh new look ITN Archive has rebranded as ITN Source.
The itnsource.com web site re-development is now moving along apace and a major site upgrade is planned for the week commencing 25th September.
From the week commencing 25th September visitors to the itnsource.com web site will be able to:
WATCH AND DOWNLOAD
Watch and download for free browse quality video of ITN and Reuters news clips generated since mid July.
The video will be embedded within the shotlists and will be accompanied by keyframes to make searching easier.
You will be able to watch video of clips that are cleared for sale and which meet our guidelines for taste and decency.
All other clips will still be available on the site as text, as they are now.
Watch and download for free browse quality video clips in the compilations hub area of the web site.
Watch and download for free browse quality clips from a new concept hub area on the site.
CONCEPTS
There will be 20 primary concepts arranged in 8 groups on the upgraded site:
Education, effort and work
Culture and society
Leisure, lifestyle and sport
Emotion and expression
Geography, nature and place
Abstract concepts
Appearance, motion, scale and time
Science and technology
Concepts will be fully searchable from within the concept 'hub'. They will be searchable by entering search words, clicking on a keyword link, or by clicking through on a dynamic list of popular keywords called 'tags'.
Mouse rollover activated video will be a feature of the conceptual hub.
WORKSPACES
Create and save your own personal workspaces - called clip bins.
You will have to register on the site to be able to create clip bins.
You will be able set up one or more clip bins for each project you are working on.
You will be able to save the clips you think you will want to use in your clip bins.
You will be able to share your clip bins with named people so that others can view the clips you have selected.
SEARCH
Use a 'slider' to set date ranges in the advanced search page. This will save time typing and date selecting and be more fun to use, but will have the same underlying functionality as now.
New video clips will be added to the site every day, creating the fastest growing and most dynamic online content source yet!
