OCT 2006 - MIPCOM 2006 REPORT
Presenting our largest and most diverse roster of titles yet, Canamedia enjoyed a productive and successful MIPCOM 2006, meeting with buyers every half hour for the duration of the market. Buyer attendance was up, broadcasters were acquiring new programs with enthusiasm and many deals were set in motion over the course of the 4-day market.
New deals inked since MIPCOM 2006 include:
Lofty Ideas – 13 x 30’ lifestyle series sold to Phoenix Satellite, Hong Kong
4 documentary deal - 4 x 60’ sold to Sky New Zealand
Hockey Brawl – new shorts package deal sold to Ripe TV, USA
Make me A Porn Star – 13 x 30’ series sold to Starz Encore, USA
Canamedia also capitalized on the market to meet with several International Producers and Distributors in order to acquire additional titles for our ever-expanding catalogue. We are also focusing on developing more original series and documentaries in conjunction with our Producers, and look forward to inking many new commissions and pre-buyers with broadcasters in 2006/2007. Projects in development include MR. SMITH GOES TO HOLLYWOOD, THE PREACHER and RIDE TO THE TOP.
