May 2010 – MIPTV 2010 REPORT

Despite being trapped for a week in France at the end of MIPTV by volcanic ash, Canamedia was proud to attend MIPTV 2010 this year with more new HD titles in its catalogue than ever before. At the market International Sales Manager, Andrea Stokes, met with no less than 60 broadcasters over 4 hectic days, all of whom took back screeners to view for acquisition.   On the pre-sales and development pitching front , Les or Lee Harris met with various Discovery channels, Japan’s NHK,  the US Ovation network and UKTV  as well as broadcasters from a number of European countries to further Canadian indy projects in development which Canamedia will executive produce or co-produce. 

New Canamedia series for the year include My Green House (13 x 30’ HD), Wine Cents (13 x 30’ HD), The Aviators (13 x 30’ HD) and The Kayak Fishing Show (13 x 30’ HD.)
On the Canamedia HD Inc. production front, The Real Joey Lawrence  being produced by Lee Harris will have a brand-new one hour pilot episode available as of June. Also, our successful executive production of the pre-school series BELLY BUTTON BUDDIES by Les Harris has led to production  of 13x5’ eps in Saskatchewan  by Producer Gord Haddock  and they will be available by MIPCOM 2010.
