documentary series that examines the history of architecture. The series
tells the visual story of the most important stages in the development
of architecture & residential design from its origins; from the pioneer
homes built by Europeans who settled in North America centuries ago to
the latest designs by leading architects.

examines the influence of major design periods
including: Victorian Architecture, the Arts and Crafts Movement in Britain,
Modernism, Contemporary Architecture and more.
Each program features 3 homes that illustrate one architectural style
as well as interviews with the architects directly involved with the design
or restoration of these homes. The series features international homes
in countries where the roots of the architectural styles were established,
and then features North American homes which demonstrate how the style
has been adapted.
Whether urban or country living, Homes By Design showcases
homes of all different sizes and values, from the smallest and most unusual
to the largest and most spectacular.
